Your nature initiative makes sense on paper.
What matters is how it holds up in practice.

Most initiatives have the right vision.
Alignment across involved teams and perspectives is what makes it work.
Less business risk, more impact, expectations met.

I build coherence across the people and systems that nature initiatives depend on:
connecting visionaries and strategists with operational teams and communities, and bridging between what capital expects and what delivery requires. I work in English, Spanish and German and you’re welcome to engage with me in Brazilian Portuguese.

Is this you?

You're building or growing a nature initiative

  • Investors, technical teams and delivery partners are moving - but not from the same picture.

  • Nature-positive commitments are real, but turning them into a coherent delivery plan across all stakeholders is harder than expected.

  • The right foundations are there, but strategic structure and governance need to come before the complexity outgrows the team.

  • Community engagement, technical delivery and investor reporting are running in parallel - and nobody is holding them together.

You need specialist expertise for a specific project or mandate

  • Your team has the strategic or commercial capability, but this mandate needs someone who understands what actually happens at project level - the science, the operations, the community dynamics - and can connect that to your portfolio or advisory work.

  • A technically strong team that knows what they've built - but needs someone to translate it for the investors or partners who need to fund or adopt it.

  • A programme that needs someone to lead a workstream as the demand arises; not just advise on it.

My domain expertise

My background is in forestry, sustainable land use, social safeguards, and nature-based solutions. I focus on projects and strategies where investment decisions, ecological thinking, operational delivery and community realities all have to work together. Voluntary carbon and biodiversity markets, land-based commodity supply chains, forest certification systems.

My clients include project developers, investors, certification bodies, advisory firms and organisations navigating nature-related commitments - at any stage from early concept to active delivery.

I work within that context, but I'm not the compliance reporter. I work with your specialist teams and connect the dots. I help you work out what those requirements mean for how you build, govern and deliver your initiative.

How I fit into teams varies:

  • workstream lead embedded in a programme

  • senior advisor alongside leadership

  • or the coordination function between different disciplines and stakeholders, depending on what the situation needs.

Who is this for?

Investors and Capital

You're putting capital into a nature or land-use initiative and you need more than a due diligence report. You want someone independent watching how things are actually developing: whether the governance holds, whether the stakeholder dynamics are being managed, and whether what you're being told matches what's happening on the ground. Honest input, not reassurance.

Project developers and start-ups

You're building a nature-based project or maybe a service start-up in the sector. The concept is solid and there's real momentum but the complexity is growing: different investors, community considerations, standards requirements, technical systems. You need strategic structure and positioning that works across all of that before it becomes a coordination problem. And someone who understands both the market side and what actually holds up in practice.

Consulting and sustainability teams

You need a specialist who combines nature markets and forestry domain knowledge with the ability to run workstreams that are heavy in cross-functional or international stakeholder coordination. That combination is harder to find than it sounds.

I work alongside existing teams on defined scopes — independently, without needing to be managed — and bring additional depth where projects have a Latin American dimension: regional context, local stakeholder dynamics, and language.

Organisations

You're a business, NGO, certification body or supply chain company with a mandate to engage with nature — through TNFD, CSRD, nature-positive targets, or market expectations from your sector. Committing to targets is the easy part. Building the governance, engaging the right stakeholders, and translating ambition into a coherent strategy and delivery plan is where most organisations get stuck. I can support you from research and strategy through to facilitation and implementation -depending on where you are and what you need.

How I can help

Pillar 1: Strategy and workstream leadership

Strategic Review & Assessment
An independent read on what you have: gaps, risks, opportunities, and where the real assumptions are.

Strategy & Roadmapping
Bringing structure, shared direction and clear prioritisation to early stage or transitioning initiatives.

Workstream Leadership & Programme Delivery
I embed as a senior workstream lead, own the delivery process and keep the programme moving. Ongoing engagement, not a one-off.

Pillar 2: Communications & Facilitation

Strategic Communications & Sector Translation
Communication architecture for complex initiatives: investor narratives, internal alignment, community engagement and reputation risk. Connecting demand and supply side.

Stakeholder & Systems Facilitation
Mapping and aligning the people and incentives that determine whether delivery works, across communities, investors and technical teams.

Pillar 3: Nature Intelligence & Markets

Nature Intelligence, Monitoring & Impact Logic
Connecting what you're trying to achieve with what you measure and how; scientifically sound, operationally feasible.

Nature Markets Orientation
How voluntary carbon and biodiversity markets work, what the standards require, and what matters for your specific context. How to work with service providers and what to watch out for.

My vision

Significant private capital is looking for meaningful impact. Nature restoration and conservation projects remain critically underfunded. That gap isn't primarily a financing problem, and surely not a lack of innovation - it's a coordination problem.

Nature initiatives span hard science, complex regulation, community realities and investor expectations. Getting the technical and entrepreneurial pieces right is necessary - but it's rarely what determines success.

What determines success is whether the people involved understand the whole picture and their part in it.

My work is about the human side of that: transferring knowledge across disciplines, aligning perspectives, and helping create the right incentives - so that people can work together effectively and capital reaches nature in ways that genuinely hold.

What you gain from working with me

Senior judgment and domain depth, without the overhead and commitment of a full-time hire.

My clients are typically teams in transition, at an early stage, or navigating territory where they don't yet have full in-house expertise. Bringing in a permanent senior role at that point is often premature - and risky. I offer an alternative: a trusted, versatile resource who can step in, own what needs to be owned, and scale engagement up or down as the situation evolves.

"Stefanie brings a rare mix of clear thinking, deep technical knowledge, and a network that opens doors you didn't even know existed. She moves easily between big-picture vision and day-to-day action." (Founder, nature finance company*)

You get:

  • Domain expertise across nature markets, forestry and stakeholder systems

  • Senior judgment on decisions that matter, without the premature commitment of a full-time hire

  • Someone who can lead a workstream, not just advise on it

  • Flexibility - scale up or down as the situation evolves

  • Cross-functional and cross-cultural range, including Latin America

  • Less risk, more impact. Expectations met.

I look forward to working with you

I’m Stefanie Kaiser. I work with people who want to turn impact intentions into decisions that genuinely deliver.

I care about impact that holds in the real world - where ecological integrity, human realities and business feasibility need to align.

My work draws on scientific understanding, field experience, market knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking - across forestry, biodiversity, carbon markets and the communities that nature projects depend on.

“One of those rare people who can both fit in and create meaningful relationships with local communities, and also understands the high-level science, geopolitics, and strategy for effective planetary action.”
(CEO, biodiversity tech company*)

Where helpful, I collaborate with a small group of trusted partners across science, data, investment and project delivery - allowing projects to draw on additional expertise without losing clarity or coherence.

If you're exploring options, facing a decision, or simply want to test an idea, I'm always happy to start with a conversation.
